Norsk Bijou Cattery

NW, GIC & GIP NL* Hedda fra Walaskjalf, DSM

NFO n 09
Pedigree

100 % of a Lady in the cat-world. She is elegant, attentive, gallant and always ready to award you with endearments. Also, restless mother, endearing friend – she will always smile to you and for nothing on the world she would strike on you!

She was born on 30-th of April 1998 in The Nederland at the cattery of Caroline and Erik de Jong from GIC Hakon van het Vikingdal (sire) и Dorothey van het Joribrihof (dam), together with three sisters and one brother. On the website of their cattery you can find a separate webpage with more of her early pictures in the section of their second litter.

The fortune brought her to me directly from her breeding cattery in November 2000. The same month she started her show carrier in Sofia on the shows of the Bulgarian Federation on Felinology, later renamed to a National Federation of Felinology, with constant participation of international FIFe judges. In 2002 she received her third CAC certificate and went from 09 – Open class into the higher show class 07 – Champion. In 2004 she received her third CACIB certificate at the November shows in Belgrade and went in the higher class 05 – International Champion.

On the show in Velika Gorica, Croatia, she received her sixth CAGCIB from a third country (after Bulgaria and Romania ) and became the first cat in Bulgaria (not only for the Norwegian Forest Cat breed) reached the title of Grand International Champion (GIC) and went to class 03 - GIC! Congratulations!

Hedda has a really sweet and charming character! She is the first cat I have ever seen, who will never "raise a paw" against any person, never show her claws, nor even hiss! She is very attentive and loves to be pet, but doesn't love to be hold on arms. In order to get cares (or a vitamine) she will stand on her hind legs and will push her head in my hands. We love each other very much - she even knows her name and responds to it!:) As mother she cares a lot - from the very first moment of their lives till they leave to their new homes! She even allows breastfeeding for 4-5 months...! She also love to participate in shows, to present herslef on judges tables and the attention of the visitors!

Hedda as a kitten
Hedda as a kitten at the Walaskjalf's Cattery

In the cattery several attempts for breeding were made. In the beginning Hedda had two false and one problematic pregnancies, followed by a period of not letting fertilization.
At the end, in 2004, the successful delivery of two beautiful and healthy litters was achieved - A & B.

In 2007 she finally agreed to have kittens from Skjalm, so Litter C was born on 15.06.2007 - and we kept the big chramer Casanova!. In 2008 г., just a day before her 10-th Birthday, Hedda became mother for last time with the surprise of 5 kittens in Litter E from Rameses (and she always was having only 4 all the time, while she was younger;) ) - and we kept her copy (even though with red) - the fascinating Evelinne Hedda.

Since August 2008 she got retired/spayed and she again got fit fot competition for gathering titles as a neuter, where she againg is catching judges hearts!!!

In April 2009 succersfully Hedda became the first NFO FIFe Premior (PR) in Bulgaria and in May respectively - International Premior (IP)! Also, we are very proud that Hedda became the first ever in Bulgaria NFO and a second over all breeds cat with the prestigious title of FIFe Distinguished Show Merit - DSM!!! Congratulations!!! And now, in January 2012, at age of nearly 14 y.o. she became FIFe Grand International Premior (GIP)!!!:) Such a result, wow!:)

And what makes us even more happier is that, together with her daughter Evelinne, Hedda became the first NFO in Bulgaria awarded the title National Winner (NW) - for 2011 and her allover achievements!!!:-) We are not just happy - we are VERY PROUD!!!:)))
